PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT LEGAL RESOURCE CENTRE
The main purpose of the project ‘Legal Resource Centre’ is to provide an easy access to the standardized forms of legal documents by creating database on the internet. This will ensure education of the participants and assist them in the legal proceedings.
MISSION OF THE PROJECT
Participants in the legal system of the Republic of Macedonia are faced with lack of legal documents necessary for participating in legal proceedings. They often have to pay an expert to write them a legal document correctly. The expenses are very high and most of them don’t have finance to pay that type of services.
The law students have laboured access to the documents used in practice as well. As a result the knowledge of law graduates is inadequate. This project will allow and aid students to improve their skills in preparing the legal documents and submissions, essential for developing their future career.
The project will also help young lawyers and their associates to do their job faster and more proficiently. Having fast and easy access to the standardized forms of legal documents via internet will allow them to response more competently to their client’s requests.
RESULTS AND BENEFITS
The expected long-term benefit from this project is to lower the number of mistakes made during the legal processes. That will accelerate the legal proceedings in front of the institutions regarding submission of the documents by the participants in the legal system.
This project will improve the approach to the judicial system, and will decrease the administration pressure during initiation of the legal procedures.
The implementation of the project will decrease bureaucracy and enhance transparency of the legal system on a national level. This will also create a database for free legal assistance which is a precondition for EU membership.
PROJECT FUNDING
The project has been realized through the cooperation agreement signed between BAR Association of the Republic of Macedonia and the Citizen Association ‘Judicial Web Macedonia’. This project has been financed through the funds from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, aimed for supporting the reform process within the judiciary.
