Purpose of the
project
The purpose of this project is to present the information of public character
in relation to the functioning of the courts in the Republic of Macedonia,
court expert witnesses and court interpreters in an open and transparent
manner. The next phase of the project will also include an overview of judicial
practice.
The availability of these information services to the expert and general public
represents a significant step forward in meeting the standards of quality
living and achieving faster economic and social development as well as progress
toward European standards.
Project funding
The Judicial Web project has been realized through the mutual cooperation agreement signed between the Republic of Macedonia - Ministry of Justice and the Republic of Croatia - Ministry of Justice. The project has been financed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Netherlands. The intention is to enhance regional cooperation and offer support to the reform process within the judiciary.
Mandate
The principal goal of the NGO Judges Web, which has the full support of the
Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Macedonia, the Supreme Court of the
Republic of Macedonia, the Academy for the Training of Judges and Prosecutors
and the Macedonian Judges Association, will be to make this information
available to the public via the Internet.
The task of the NGO Judges Web in realization of this project will be the
gathering of all required information, their verification and inclusion into
the database which will be available on the Internet.
The database relating to the functioning of the courts in the Republic of
Macedonia, court expert witnesses and court interpreters, as well as the
judicial practice at a later stage, will be created through the constant
contact with these subjects and it will be used as basis for the creation of
specialized webpages that can be searched in a simple way by using different
keywords.
All the information on the Internet will be available in Macedonian, English
and Albanian language.
Results of the
project
The results of the project will be the availability of information previously
unavailable to the public which can be easily searched and accessed.
After the finalization of the project, the entire application will become the
ownership of the Ministry of Justice as part of the activities of the already
adopted “ICT Strategy for Judiciary in the Republic of Macedonia“ that is being
implemented in the field of informatization which is one of the strategic
priorities of the reform of the judicial system in the Republic of Macedonia.
These strategic priorities are the harmonisation of the Macedonian legislation
with the European legislation, the use of best practices of the countries
associated with the European Union and, finally, full membership of the
Republic of Macedonia in the European Union.
